Brent Showalter, MS, MEd, LPC

Brent is a grant writer, evaluator, and researcher, with extensive experience leading federal, state, and foundation-funded evaluation projects totaling more than $100 million in awarded funding. His expertise includes designing comprehensive evaluation frameworks, developing research methodologies and assessment instruments, and conducting advanced quantitative and qualitative analyses to assess program effectiveness, demonstrate impact, and support continuous improvement.

Previously, Brent served as Senior Research Fellow for the National Center for Urban Education at Illinois State University, where he led assessment initiatives, managed large-scale data systems, authored formative and summative evaluation reports, and supported the development of innovative teacher preparation and community-engaged educational programs. Throughout his career, he has partnered with higher education institutions, school districts, and community-based organizations to advance equity-focused initiatives through rigorous research, strategic planning, and data-informed decision making.

In addition to his work in research and evaluation, Brent is a practicing psychotherapist in Chicago.
