Heather Patay is Vice President of Complément Consulting Group, where she provides grant design and writing, qualitative and quantitative evaluation, technical assistance, professional development, program implementation, and leadership development and analysis to universities, colleges, PreK–12 schools, and social service, mental health, and other nonprofit organizations.

She currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the Chicago Psychoanalytic Institute and on the Board of Directors of Artisttree Inc. NFP, a social practice arts organization.

Her career integrates several fields. She served as Director of a Teacher Education Program at Northeastern Illinois University for more than twenty years and as President of EHP Consulting, providing educational consulting, curriculum development, and professional development. She has also held the role of Vice President of Human Resource Development at a personnel consulting group and worked as a writer and Project Director of large federal, state, and foundation grants, leading numerous whole-school change projects in urban, high-need schools. She began her career as a special education teacher for adolescents and young adults with emotional and psychiatric challenges.
